Final call for entries – and route report!

Recce Report and Last Opportunity to Enter the Magnificent Severn Challenge
This is your last chance to enter the Magnificent Severn Challenge and with only 20 spaces left at the Gloucester Mercure Hotel, please click on this link for more details, the entry form and to avoid the disappointment of missing out on what we know will be an excellent challenge in our home country.

The Recce team have just completed checking the route and we now have proof that you don’t need to travel to Europe to cycle through amazing scenery and experience some testing climbs. Gloucestershire has a lot to offer the cyclists and we can reassure you that the route we have planned for you will motivate you to return to cycle the county again.
Whilst on the recce we stayed overnight at Bowden Hall Mercure hotel and we all felt very reassured by their Covid precautions. The below collage gives an idea of some of the beautiful scenery you will encounter but doesn’t include the many quaint Cotswold stone villages and household names that you will cycle through such as Bourton-on-the-Water, Burford, Coleford, Stow-on-the-Wold and the Forest of Dean where you may glimpse wild boar as we did during the recce.
Unlike previous years, this is not a team event where you cover 175 miles per day. Instead, we have 20 and 40 mile routes on the Friday afternoon and 40 and 65 mile routes on the Saturday and Sunday. Each cyclist selects the route and distance you would like to ride. The closing date for entry is Sunday 15th August – so please sign up now before it is too late.
